2003: Brian Vickers wins Nationwide title

In 2003, Brian Vickers won the first NASCAR Nationwide Series championship for Hendrick Motorsports after finishing the season with three wins, one pole position, 13 top-five finishes and 21 top-10s. The 19-year-old Vickers became the youngest driver to win a major NASCAR title, while Ricky Hendrick, then age 23, became the youngest owner to accomplish that feat. Vickers edged runner-up David Green by 14 points to claim his first championship.
