Tim Richmond

Tim Richmond became the second driver at Hendrick Motorsports when the organization expanded to a multi-car team in 1986. In his first season, Richmond earned seven victories and eight pole positions, which combined with teammate Geoff Bodine to set a team record of 16 poles that still stands. Driving the No. 25 Chevrolet, Richmond finished the 1986 season ranked third in the championship standings and was named the National Motorsports Press Association’s Driver of the Year, an honor he shared with Dale Earnhardt. In 1987, he earned two wins, three top-five finishes and four top-10s in just eight Cup starts.
