Jeff Hammond

Jeff Hammond joined Hendrick Motorsports in 1987 as the crew chief for the No. 17 Chevrolet driven by Darrell Waltrip. Two years later, Hammond coached Waltrip to victory in the 1989 Daytona 500, kicking off a season that featured six NASCAR Sprint Cup wins for the team. In four years as a crew chief at Hendrick, Hammond earned nine victories, 35 top-five finishes, 64 top-10s and three pole positions with multiple drivers.
